Bahia de Banderas, is one of the deepest bays in the world, and third biggest bay in Mexico. It receives influence from 3 important Pacific currents; California , Costal Costa Rica and Northequator. Furthermore, the bay is located at the “FALDAS” of the mountain system known as Sierra Madre del SUR., and is somehow close to the Gulf of California, a.k.a aquarium of the world. All these elements provide with shelter and food, and makes it a unique place to find different species of marine life, including both reef and deeper water sea creatures.
When having a fishing excursion, our captain and mate look for the best places to get some great catches. Some of the types of fish you could get are: Jack, Sierra, Marlin, Tuna, Billfish, Snapper, among others. It is paradise for any fishing interest. The further out of the Bay, the bigger the fish are, but the time to get there is longer. Patience and perseverance are very important, but as any connoisseur, you already know this!
Bahia de Banderas, is well known for hosting different sport fishing tournaments, some national and international that are held during November and February in most years.

Deep sea fishing charters
We have 2 main deep sea fishing areas, this for those trips over 8 hours:
La Corbeteña: This place is recommended for serious fishermen, you will find the biggest fish around including 1,000 lb. Marlin, and 300 lb. Tuna. It may take 1.5 hrs to reach these waters, depending on weather conditions. Therefore we recommend spending a minimum of 8 hours so to have satisfied your fishing needs and have a great time.
El Banco – At 50 miles from shore, it may take 2 hrs to reach these waters, depending on weather conditions, therefore we only recommend this trip for those determined fishermen. It is the most celebrated fishing site around Bahia de Banderas. Here you’ll find the largest tunas, sailfish, Mahi Mahi, among other massive catches.
Regardless of your type of fishing, you will find that our captain and crew are very experienced. They know where to find the fish, and will help you to have a great catch.
